Last weekend Blake and I took a trip up to Duluth to see my family. We had a great time! There is nothing better than going home and being pampered a bit, knowing that I don't have to clean or really do anything if I don't want and of course knowing that I can sleep in and my parents will get up with Blake! Oh and of course getting my favorite Sammy's Pizza! Yum! We didn't do too much up there other than watch the MN hockey tournament and visit with my parents and my grandparents. Blake did go snowmobiling with grandpa Tim and we all went to the train museum. (I didn't even go shopping! Which is VERY unlike me, when I'm in Duluth I tend to have the overwhelming need to shop, probably since all my favorite stores are there unlike here!)
Blake loves anything with trains, especially Thomas the Train, he has 20+ of the 30 some trains in the collection, we may have gone a little overboard, but he loves them and he does play with all of them (he knows the names of every train, even the ones he doesn't have). So, last weekend when we were in Duluth we went to the train museum. Blake loved it! He did seem a little intimidated by the big trains and why they weren't talking like Thomas! Blake really enjoyed watching the model trains and playing with the Thomas train they had set up. My parents and I really liked it too, its set up like 1910 Duluth and has some really neat displays to look at, needless to say it was better than we thought it was going to be! But next time we go, we're going AFTER Blake's nap, towards the end he was getting pretty crabby and cried when we had to leave! Oh, and next time the trains should be running so we can go for a ride.

Lately Kevin has been super busy with work, he leaves early, comes home for a while for dinner and to be with us, then he goes back to work until well after Blake and I are sleeping. Its like this every spring, the rush to letter cars and get his own race cars ready, but I still never get used to it or like it for that matter..besides getting to watch what I want on TV! LOL The saddest part is Blake is noticing that daddy's gone more, he'll cry "I want my daddy" and go sit by the door, its heartbreaking, so I'm going to have to bring Blake into the shop more at nite, he likes that regardless, lots to get into and of course he's eager to help daddy work!
Blake has been a ball of energy lately, well I guess he's always been one! We recently put Blake in a big boy bed and he's done great! We've had no problems, thank goodness! We're also in the process of redoing his room from Cars to, can you guess?!? Thomas the Train! Its almost all done, I just need to paint and put up the border, I'll post pix when its done!

I've actually been pretty busy with work and stuff around the house. I'm in the process of getting state licensed for my daycare, I'm currently county certified but with the addition of our baby I need the license to have more kids. It will be good for money but not sure on my sanity! I've also been doing things around the house that have been on our "to do list" but never seem to get done, I think I'm nesting! How boring huh?!?! Is it July yet!
Baby update! Today I had my 24 week check up and so far all is going great! I'm 24 weeks and measuring at 25 weeks, wouldn't that be nice if she came early! We've decided to name our baby girl Brooklyn! Brooke has always been "our girl name" and we added the -lyn for our mothers (Kevin's mom is Linda and my mom is Merlyn). We haven't decided on a for sure middle name yet, but we have 16 wks to decide on that! So far for Brooklyn we have her room painted and the crib up. I've been buying things here and there for her, so I won't be going broke at the end of my pregnancy getting all the things needed to care for a newborn! Its been fun to shop for pink :)
As I look outside at the endless snow falling, its hard to believe that racing starts in less than a month! I'm not sure if I'm ready to give up my weekends to racing yet, but at least it will be something to do and hopefully make the next 4 months go a little bit quicker! :)
Time for a nap! Bye for now!
